Biomes are broad classifications of ecological communities (both terrestrial and aquatic) that tell us where our footprint lands, so to speak. So if your footprint is 100 hectares, and 40% "lands" on marine fisheries, it means that 40 hectares of your footprint is ocean area that supports marine fisheries. Same for forests, cropland, pastureland. Hope this helps.

From my understanding Biomes are large geographical areas which are charaterized by types of animals,climate,plants,soil,water,rock formations, and last but not least the latitude.Some of the types of biomes are desert, tundra and grassland. A little bit of info about the desert is that its the worlds direst region.The vegetation are all drought resistant plants. Also animals that live there surive with little to no water

Start very general. Something like: "Prairies are an important habitat for many plant and animal species." Then go into how much prairie land we are loosing and why prairie restoration is important.
