The IPCC is the world’s leading authority on the science of climate change. Their 4th assessment has just been released, documenting the causes of global warming, which countries and which ecosystems are most affected, and what policy makers need to do to keep warming at or below the critical two-degree threshold.
Chaired by former Vice President Al Gore, the ACP’s mission is to persuade people of the importance, urgency and feasibility of adopting and implementing effective and comprehensive solutions for the climate crisis.
At no cost to you, Cooler offsets the global warming impact of every purchase you make through its site. Cooler calculates the pounds of greenhouse gas produced in the process of manufacturing, shipping and selling the product you purchase. The retailer then pays Cooler a fee, which they invest to offset the greenhouse gas pollution created by the product you purchased. These investments are backed by the largest environmental organizations.
Colder climates require more energy for heat and somewhat more for lighting and cooking. Hot and humid climates, on the other hand, require more energy for cooling and refrigeration. It may not be immediately obvious which climate zones require more energy. Statistically, however, there is a strong correlation: the coldest areas require the most energy. The choices above are ordered from most to least energy intensive.
